Interview - Road To Masters LG

This interview will focus on the Road To Masters (RTM) league, which is a team league on StarCraft LOTV.

JuliaN : Hello. first of all, could you introduce yourself to the audience ?

Marco :
Hi my name is Marco Guillen known in Latinamerica as IMHulk, I am the owner of the team
Legion of the Fallen and also I am a tournament organizer.

You will find his photos below (click on them in order to zoom in a new webpage) :

JuliaN : What is Road To Masters (RTM) exactly ? How and when was this project born ?

Marco : RTM
is the closest we have to a Latinamerican Pro League. It's a team tournament where all the top players from the region compete. It was born 3 years ago and the reason was because I felt that we needed these tournaments in order to develop Pro scene.

JuliaN : So it's a tournament exclusive for Latam. Where does your strong interest in Latin America come from ? Why don't you invite european clans over ?

Marco : In the mean time the tournament is only for Latam but probably in 2017 i will be able to open spots for teams outside the region. It's closed because I wanted to focus on the latam players, let them earn money, gain experience...I felt that our region was not supported in the same way as NA and EU.

JuliaN : What could you tell us about the clanwar format, cashprizes ?

Marco : Prize pool is $600, match format is Pro League BO7, and the most attractive thing is that ALL THE CLAN WARS are casted in one single twitch, same way as the Korean Pro League.

JuliaN : In your opinion, what are the best clans in Latam ?

Marco : Top 4 so far are
Ordo Equitum, Try Again, Rebirth Esports and Legion of the Fallen. But we also have  Next Gaming and Death Zone that did not participate last season, but they are very strong teams as well.

JuliaN : StarCraft has many difficulties in evolving as an electronic sport game in many countries. What's your opinion about that ? How could we bring more players to the scene ?

Marco :
It's complicated, StarCraft is a very complex and stressful game and that's why many people quit playing. Also I feel that MOBAs provide the option of 5 people winning a prize, in our case that is individual, which makes it harder to win tournaments. I feel Blizzard has been trying to keeping it alive with this new WCS format, which I think is great since now other than koreans are earning money and are developing in a bettter way. For instance
Neeb, Masa, Kelazhur, Cham and JimRising if we should give names.

JuliaN : Thanks for answering our questions. You can now conclude this interview.

Marco : Thank you for always supporting my tournaments, the latam community is very thankful and I appreciate that. Hopefully we will keep creating tournaments to keep SC2 alive.

Very interesting interview, I didn't know this tournament. I now follow your twitter activity and liked your FB page. Thank you for developping the online scene of SC2, this game really deserves it.
